Frequently Asked Questions
Which vest is the most popular?
The Level II-A and Level 11 are the most popular vests sold. Th6 Level III-A is a distant
third and the Level I is sold mainly for other lighter applications. Be sure your vest
will stop your own handgun. Nearly 20% of all police officers shot are shot with their own
weapon.
How long will my vest last?
No one really knows. The five-year replacement rule is very common. We have shot vests
much older and they have performed fine. Our advice is to test shoot your vest after five
years and every two years after. This should be done by removing the ballistic panel so as
not to harm the outer carrier.
How can the vest be made
cooler to wear in the summer?
Put your vest on over a 100% cotton T-shirt or a fishnet type athletic undershirt. This
helps to promote evaporation and cooling.
How can I tell if my vest
fits?
In order for a vest to fit properly, the bottom of the vest should be one to two inches
above the navel when standing up. It will feel too short but if it is longer it will
ride-up when sitting down.
Can a XX or XXX person be fitted?
Yes. We take a standard XL and increase the length of the straps in order to accommodate
the large girth (there is no extra charge for this). Extra large people usually need two
side panels on each side.
Is a female vest available?
Yes. Add the cup size in addition to the height, weight, chest and waist sizes.
Can I get a ballistic panel
to fit my briefcase?
Yes. Give us the size and we will quote you a price.
How long will it take to
receive my vest?
We maintain a very large inventory and ship most orders within 24 hours via UPS and Air
Parcel Post. We ship worldwide and are well-versed with regulations imposed by the
Department of Commerce and the State Department.
