Protection - MPS Soft Body Armor

Stopping Power
Soft body armor is designed to protect the torso against handgun gunfire. The Bodyguard offers four levels of protection.

High Powered Rifle Protection
Ceramic Plates can be added to pockets on the outside of soft body armor vests to give protection against high powered rifle fire. They are 10" x 12" and weigh approximately seven pounds. There are two levels that have been established by the National Institute of Justice:
--Level 111: .308 Winchester 150 gr. FIVIJ, 2750 fps
--Level IV: 30-06 166 gr. armor piercing, 2850 fps

Trauma Plate
A trauma plate is designed to take away the impact of a bullet when striking soft body armor. It is a piece of steel covered with four layers of ballistic fiber and fits in a pocket on the outside front of the vest. It is 7 inches wide and 9 inches long and weighs approximately two pounds. Removal is simple and quick.

Side Panels
Side panels are made to the same specifications as the vest. They are 7" in height and 5" in width and weigh approximately 1/2 pound each. They cover the space under the arms and attach to the elastic straps with belt loops.
